48 hours in Norfolk … FOOD + RETAIL THERAPY

Spend a night or two with us at The Ingham Swan to sample the best of our menus plus combine your visit with some retail therapy. Here’s how 48 hours might look for all you foodies/shopaholics.

Day 1 Norwich – start with the mediaeval City of Norwich. From the charm of the Norwich Lanes with many independent businesses offering artisan coffee to cutting-edge clothing in buildings that have been there for hundreds of years to modern shopping malls featuring flagship names you know and love.  Don’t miss Jarrolds Department Store – a Norwich institution (with some fab food experiences on offer too)!

Then head to The Royal Arcade, Upper St Giles, Elm Hill and Timberhill for antiques and collectables, art, fashion and so much more. Don’t miss Yalm, Norwich’s new food hall.

Return to the comfort of The Ingham Swan to get ready for a memorable dinner and a comfy overnight stay with us. The following morning we’d recommend heading north… one you’ve enjoyed an Ingham Swan breakfast to set you up for the day.

Day 2 - Holt - an attractive 18th Century Market Town with some fine Georgian buildings and charming courtyards housing art galleries, antiques, book shops and many more independently owned businesses plus plenty of places to enjoy a leisurely lunch too.  The town centre is compact and easily walkable.  Holt is also home to the North Norfolk Railway – The Poppy Line heritage steam railway running between Holt and Sheringham past some stunning coastal scenery.
