Fresh from the North Sea …

One of our favourites, the world-renowned Cromer Crab, is in season and we love it! It is said that Cromer crabs taste sweeter due to the chalk shelf just off the coast which influences their diet. We like to buy crab and lobster from Jonas Seafood, a family-run business just up the coast in Cromer who still fish in the traditional way from their own boats throughout the season, catching the very best that the North Sea has to offer. Kevin Jonas started the business more than 20 years ago, following in the footsteps of his father, Tom, who served on the Cromer Lifeboat with Henry Blogg, the most famous lifeboatman in Norfolk’s history. Jonas still prepare crabs on a daily basis, cooked in traditional water boilers, handpicked and chilled ready for distribution.
